Our Team

ANDRE

Andre Batts is usually known as our housing expert at HOPES, but now he primarily serves as the PATH Case Manager. He assists people who are homeless and have a mental health condition to access services and end their homelessness. Andre joined HOPES in 2016.

JANEMARIE

JaneMarie Schatzman keeps the office running as Administrative Specialists. She handles the finances, pays the bills, and takes care of general office administration. JaneMarie is the longest serving staff member at HOPES, having joined in 2009.

PAULA

Paula Fields served as a street outreach volunteer and did a field experience with HOPES while she was a Human Services student at Gateway Technical College. Now we are happy to have her on our team as a Housing Specialist in our Rapid Rehousing Program.

RI’

Ri’ Witer is HOPES’ Street Outreach Specialist and serves people who are homeless and live outside. He leads teams of volunteers two nights during the week and is on a weekend team with Scott. Ri’ is in the office with the rest of the team on Wednesdays.

SCOTT

Scott Metzel is the Director at HOPES, having started with HOPES in 2014. He is also the street outreach coordinator and a street outreach team member at night. Scott chairs Racine’s Point-in-Time (PIT) work group and helps organize the annual PIT count of people experiencing homelessness in Racine
