Supporting Service on the Streets

  • SUPER WARMERS!!!!!!

In High Demand as Temps Drop

Super Warmers are like hand warmers, but bigger. They get warm quickly and stay warm through the night. They are a critical component of our street outreach supplies during the winter.. We go through a lot of these, especially in extreme cold weather conditions.

  • BLANKETS

    Staying Warm and Comfortable.

We always need blankets. We use almost any type of blanket except for lap blankets or children’s blankets. New blankets are great. Clean and gently used blankets are also fine.

  • HOT CHOCOLATE

    Always a winner!

Hot chocolate is a popular item all year long. Some people request it every time we meet them during street outreach. The kind with marshmallows are a plus, but any kind that we can mix with hot water is fine. We use both packets and large containers .

  • RAMEN NOODLES

    Something Quick and Filling

During outreach, we just call this soup. We carry the noodles (they come in cups) and thermoses of hot water to make them. These days we also carry hot sauce, so all we need are chicken and beef flavors. We make them spicey to order on the streets!

  • COFFEE

    That Warm Feeling…

You might think coffee wouldn’t be popular at night, but people do take coffee from our street outreach team and it helps them feel warm and comfortable. We can use ground coffee. Any brand is fine, with Folgers being the most popular. We use it for office visitors and during street outreach.

  • WATER

    Water is life.

We can always use water in 16 oz bottles. Water is greatly appreciated by the people we meet on the streets - all year ‘round.

  • BRING IT ON IN!

    No need to call…

If you have an in-kind donation, just bring it to the office Tues. - Fri., 8 am to 2 p.m. We’re at 6th and Villa. (No need to call ahead). If those times don’t work for you, give us a call and we’ll make other arrangements

Clothing and Household Items

We do not take clothing or household items, but we have some great partners who do:

The Hospitality Center has a clothes closet that offers free clothing to people who need it.

Feather-a-Nest is a program of SAFE Haven of Racine. Feather-a-Nest provides furniture and household items through Racine’s housing programs for people experiencing homelessness, including HOPES’ Rapid Rehousing program.
